The Scrap Collector is a passive secondary weapon for the Scout. It's a glove made of blue bandages. It was a July 2012 Weapon of the Month before being reintroduced on both November 2012 and May 2013.
When this weapon is equiped the user's switch time is greatly decreased and any damage dealt with the primary weapon will fill up a Warmth meter. Attacking an enemy with a melee weapon will deal bonus damage based on the current amount of Warmth but will consume part of it.
- A full Warmth meter will increase the damage of your melee by 50%, as most Scout melees weapons deals 35 damage, a fully "warmth" hit will deal about 53 damage, which can be used to finish off wounded enemies without wasting ammo.
- The Ponk! Atomic Hammer can be useful as its guarteed mini-crit can deal about 71 damage, enough to kill lighter classes wounded by only one close range Scattergun shot.
- When first introduced on July 2012 it lacked a Warmth meter and simply passively increased melee damage by 35%. It still had the same decreased switch time.
